Friday masala ...

Weekend has just begun. So get ready for more cricket ...

I think soon Bayarea will be well know for its cricket craziness.

“Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.”

Quiz time.

Do you how many runs have been scored up till now in the Open 2009

Ans : 5190

I think recently cricket in TCA is getting dominated by Batsman than the Bowlers just like international T20, thats the reason why you see lot of runs on the board 100+ in a innings.

(numbers from brief score entries)

Any guess how many runs will be scored this weekend ???

Let see how close one cab guess.

Gosip

International cricket these days too has become unpredictable with England in command over Aussies and Bangladesh attacking west Indies are biggest example of Cricket being funny game.

3. With All Round performance this week leader is Bhola XI

Bijoy (62) Rangers v/s Scorpions.

Friday masala ...

Summer has begun and so has Open 2009 ... with 34 teams fighting in Round 1 for their spots in Elite group. Let's see who holds on to their nerve and make to the top spots. Lets get ready for all the actions to come

"Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character."
T. Alan Armstrong

Aap aye to bahar ayi ... Welcome buddies
Cricket has always been setting example of sportsmanship, spirit , discipline, hard work, and strategy.
This season we started with roughly 30 registrations for Open 2009, but who knew we will be having 34 teams on board the TCA choo choo train. Thanks to each and everyone who accepted last moment registrations and changes in the schedule. What could be a better example of community strength and unity with no single opposition for the same? Nothing. Hats off to all of you. Great work by all volunteers too to make this possible in very short span of time.

So lets, Welcome these new Teams to TCA Bay Area chapter.
1. Rangers
2. Bay Area Bangladesh Association Tigers
3. Mustangs
4. San Ramon CCC

Mahn gaye guru ... Cricket at its best
TCA always tries to reserve grounds for its matches or max it uses those grounds which are 100% used by TCA where you do not have to worry about whether your game will get over or not. Here are venues currently used by TCA for Open 2009: Boggini Park, Karl Nordvik Park, Booster Park, Murdock Park, John Horner - 1, John Horner - 2, Centerville, Thomas Russell, and Starbird Park.

But err is to human. Last week we had a shorten game due to duplicate permit issued by city of San Jose at Star Bird Park. But hats off to playing teams Spanglers and Thunderbolts and respective umpires from teams Kasturi Pade and Stars CC, who showed us the true passion of cricket. Great show guys. If you all have any issues related to games, grounds or umpiring kindly drop an email to games committee (bagames@tennisballcricket.org) and they will be happy to help you out in whatever ways possible from their end. http://www.tennisballcricket.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=97

Jo jita woh hi sikandar ... What a start
Teams have already started blasting with few 100+ in a innings

Acers - 159, Bhola XI - 145, San Ramon CCC - 123, Warriors - 115, Centurions - 111, Packers - 101
While some teams decided to bowl the opponents out
Sloggers vs Beamers, Warriors vs Nexus CC, Packers vs Sharks CC, Centurions vs Royal XI, Bhola XI vs Chuma TP XI, Cheenai 94086 vs Chak de, SE11 vs MCC, Strikers vs Rangers, Champions CC vs Chargers.

Lakshya ... Scorecards

Thanks to all the teams for entering Brief score card.
Total number of teams who have entered Detail score card: 11 out of 17 teams

If you are facing any issues related to Registration or entering score card kindly get in touch with our dynamic website committee (bawebsite@tennisballcricket.org). They will be ready to help you guys. Lets make target this open to fill all the pending score cards on time.

Aaj ke Hero ... the Leaders
Team - Acers 20 pts
Jayanath Marambe (Packers) - 48 reaching his HS in TCA
Ravi singh (Spanglers) - 4 wickets in 3 overs

Kuch bhi ho shaktha hai ... the Upsets
Cricket has always been game of surprises. According to me
1. Cheenai Veerans defeated Discers
2. Sloggers defeated Beamers

The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.

Enjoy your weekend.

Hum bhi kisi se kum nahi ...

Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations in advance of the event.
Lets get ready for the action ... Just 2 days to go ...

With unpredictable and increasing temperature this summer, you never know who else is going to shine and make big teams feel the heat on the TCA reserved grounds this summer.
30. Nexus No.of Matches played - 4
They are the youngest team in TCA chapter. Yet to taste a win. But seeing at their roaster list you will be amazed to see 23 players being registered under their roof.
Their decision to join TCA itself is a proof that they like competitive cricket and ready for any Open challenges. Can they link to each other and as a team upset the table.
http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=109

Rising star - karthik J scoring 51 in his only match played.

29. Chumma TP No.of Matches played - 13
They are slowly and steadily building up the fort. They have already started wining. It just matter of time to get used to wining habit. Let see they how they simply/chumma takes away the games from others big teams.
http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=76

Rising star - Ammar who has already reached 130+ mark and his team mate Saurabh garbing 19 wickets in small span of time.

28. Sharks
No.of Matches played - 13
Another new team with full of zest and enthusiasm to give challenge and stay in competitive TCA chapter. They have capacity to turn tables round. So be watchful these Sharks are really looking dangerous and ready for their next victory in coming days.
http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=105

Rising Star - Chaitanya and Satish are currently leading the team ahead with their all round performance.

27. Panthers Played - 76
Wins - 33
Wining percentage - 44%

http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/match_scorecards.php?cID=1&tID=6&numsc=76&rURL=team_details.php

They are pretty old team. Its just they are not lucky enough to convert lot of close matches into wins. They have lot of talent and style no question about it. They have already reached to couple of QF and SF in Imperial cup and infact they were really dangerous during FLT 2008.
Sorry no rising starts - But they have whole galaxy of players who can attack like Panthers on your team. So be watchful of them - Ajaypal, Raghav, Srinivas, Tarun plus couple of them already have 400+ runs or 70+ wickets under their belt.

26. Sloggers
Played - 35
Wins - 10
Wining percentage - 28%

http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=42

Do not go by their wining percentage they have already won the Open 2008 Royal cup. So they know their potential and capacity to hold on many more cups under their roof. Believe me just like their name their batting can slog away finest of bowling attack on a given day. By the way they have roster of 30 players with roughly around everyone playing equal no.of matches.
Gatekeepers - Charan is their strike bowler while Samrat is their run machine.

25. Royal XI
Played - 14 Won - 3 Tie - 2

They are pretty young team who is learning very quickly match by match. If you see their how close they have fought in each match will tell you entire story about their fighting spirit. Can they pick the Royal or Ellite cup this Open and prove their abilities.
http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=88

Rising star - Shivakumar and Arun are one of the upcoming All rounders to be watched out.

24. Chak De Played - 20 matches Wins- 2

They are to be frank trying really hard to get right wining combination. But who knows this season just like movie Chak De they come out like underdogs and surprise whole TCA chapter with their past experience and building skills.

http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=59

Gatekeepers - Ajay singh and Rahul Bhat are currently holding on the gates. But you never know what behind those gates to be faced on.

23. Scorpions
Played - 18 Wins - 4
Tie - 3

http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/team_details.php?tID=85

With Open 2009 they will be completing entire one cycle of TCA chapter participation. They are first and one and only one team to win Bowl-out in TCA history during FLT 2008. They too have really good fighting spirit with so many close games. So be aware of the these slow and deadly scorpions, who knows its your turn this Open 2009 to get poisoned by them.

Bowl out video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWkZQBvjwAY

Rising star - Jatin and Sourab trying their best to help scorpions find right victims.

22. Chargers Played - 14 Win - 5 Tie - 1
I think they reformed and regrouped recently into new team. Previously know by black pearl if not wrong. They are really looking charged up by their previous achievements of reaching Ellite SF and other QF in WL and League in being of the season this year. So donot take them for granted they can be very tricky on given day.

http://www.tennisballcricket.org/cricket_module/match_scorecards.php?cID=59&tID=71&numsc=14&rURL=team_details.php

All rounders - Pramod and Vishnu collectively sharing 500+ runs and 100+ wickets between themselves.

21. Cheenai Veerans Played - 4
Win - 2
Tie - 1

This team is learning fast and have already started crushing top teams. With just single lost their confidence is really high. These Veerans are really going to give tough time to all the teams just like summer temperature this year. So lets get redy to feel the heat from Cheenai Veeran this Open 2009.
Personally I am waiting to play againt or see their match in coming days.
http://www.tennisballcricket.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=101

The team itself in Radar of Rising star. Let see who shines in this Open.

To get moe intresting stats in future. I insists all teams to enter their detail scorecards on time and help each player and team to know about their strength and weakness. Competition is always good and healthy. So lets keep our update the score card and make it more competitive for which TCA is well know for on the fields.
All the Best for upcoming matches.

Sabse Bada Khiladi

Summer has begun ... let face some heat during coming week.

It will be last week for League 2009. In League 2009 we have already seen lots of ups and down. Few matches really close while few ended up in tie. Time has come to start talking about who will be the upcoming Champions. This is last chance for teams to hold on their fort before entering into play off. Few teams have already completed their round robin matches , but yet they will be still interested in the score of the other teams because equations may change.

Good, better, best; never let it rest

till your good is better and your better is best.

In League 2009, Top 12 plays for Ellite cup and Top 4 gets BYE from pre-QF. So it will be tough competition between the top most performing team to remain in top 4 position as they get chance to relax and sharpen their Axe for upcoming matches.

Race for Top 4

As of now Bhola XI, Catalyster and Packers CC are unbeaten team on top of the ladder with Acer on 4th spot.

Will they able to sustain their spots ...

(1) Bhola XI VS (27) Chak de

points 87 points 4

Bhola XI who has not lost a single game this season will be trying to finish the Race with all win and remain on top of the table. Chakde de in past have really played good cricket and has passion to play tough cricket, its matter of time for them to bounce back. Altough Chak de who has not won a single match could not be easy victim for Bhola XI, but question is how much bonus point can Bhola XI grab and make life difficult for Packers to compete them for 1st spot. Its all about maintaining the 1st spot for the Bhola X1.

Ambarish , Nihir and Hardik players to be watched out, as they too fighting for their top spot in individual category. While form Chak de Ajay singh and Ravi will be key players.

(2) Packer CC VS (15) Spanglers

points 86 points 43

Packers are really looking good, they have carried on with their winning form from Winter league. They have won all their matches this season and looking really good in both batting and bowling. They will be looking forward for all win this season against Spanglers. But to be frank Spanglers is not a team to be overlooked, from their past records its clearly visible they can turn the tables at any given day.

Moreover they too are looking for win and try to spot themselves in top 12 group.

So this match is really going to be intresting were both team fighting for their respective spots in the league.

Jayanath Marambe, satish malladi , Ravi Singh and Avtar can be key players of the match.

(3) Catalyster VS (28) Sharks

points 83 points 2

Catalyster one of the oldest team in TCA, they are back in their form. Recently beating Acers one of the toughest team in TCA chapter. They are high in confidence. Everything working their way. While on other hand the new entry of the season Sharks, yet to taste the victory.Sharks has begun quite good enough, they too are ready for tough competition otherwise they would have never choosen TCA which is one of the toughest and competative cricket tournament in Bay area. Its battle between old vs new. Can Sharks give a tough fight against the Cats and avoid giving them bonus point which can lead them to spot 1 in the Round robin.

Gaya the person with score 1000 + runs , Rohan pai will be players to be looked on while they fighting for both team victory and individual category. While from Sharks Satish and Chaitanya will be on top of hte list.

(4) Acers VS (16) SE11

points 74 points 41

Acers do I need to say anything about them. After a winter break they are back with more talent and more discipline. After their loss last week they will try their best to get back into wining habit. They play as a team with lot of match winners. They have been consistent from so many years now. SE11 team with lot of passion and talent. They have already shown they can not be taken for granted. With lot of ups and down in their path they are ready for tough cricket. So its battle between consistent and inconsistent team. Can Acer hold on to top 4 position or SE11 defeat them and prove their ability and make it to top 12.

Pradeep, Tridivesh Sarangi, Manoj and Kaustubh are players in form.

At last I will say only one thing Winners never quit and quitters never win.
