Friday masala ...

Summer has begun and so has Open 2009 ... with 34 teams fighting in Round 1 for their spots in Elite group. Let's see who holds on to their nerve and make to the top spots. Lets get ready for all the actions to come

"Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character."
T. Alan Armstrong

Aap aye to bahar ayi ... Welcome buddies
Cricket has always been setting example of sportsmanship, spirit , discipline, hard work, and strategy.
This season we started with roughly 30 registrations for Open 2009, but who knew we will be having 34 teams on board the TCA choo choo train. Thanks to each and everyone who accepted last moment registrations and changes in the schedule. What could be a better example of community strength and unity with no single opposition for the same? Nothing. Hats off to all of you. Great work by all volunteers too to make this possible in very short span of time.

So lets, Welcome these new Teams to TCA Bay Area chapter.
1. Rangers
2. Bay Area Bangladesh Association Tigers
3. Mustangs
4. San Ramon CCC

Mahn gaye guru ... Cricket at its best
TCA always tries to reserve grounds for its matches or max it uses those grounds which are 100% used by TCA where you do not have to worry about whether your game will get over or not. Here are venues currently used by TCA for Open 2009: Boggini Park, Karl Nordvik Park, Booster Park, Murdock Park, John Horner - 1, John Horner - 2, Centerville, Thomas Russell, and Starbird Park.

But err is to human. Last week we had a shorten game due to duplicate permit issued by city of San Jose at Star Bird Park. But hats off to playing teams Spanglers and Thunderbolts and respective umpires from teams Kasturi Pade and Stars CC, who showed us the true passion of cricket. Great show guys. If you all have any issues related to games, grounds or umpiring kindly drop an email to games committee (bagames@tennisballcricket.org) and they will be happy to help you out in whatever ways possible from their end. http://www.tennisballcricket.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=97

Kuch bhi ho shaktha hai ... the Upsets
Cricket has always been game of surprises. According to me
1. Cheenai Veerans defeated Discers

The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.
